Last night was special a special night for me at the BC Wedding Awards. This time around I was lucky enough to have my best friend Maxi, and my boyfriend Andy with me throughout the night to soak it all in by my side. And like every year, I was in the company of the most talented wedding industry friends and colleagues. I am so proud to be a part of a community of artists, influencers and game changers who always strive for excellence in their crafts. I’m incredibly happy to say I experienced a high point last night, winning the Best Overall Wedding Photography category! As I expected, being on stage was a blur. I usually freeze up when it comes to public speaking so I didn’t get to articulate properly how I felt inside once I was handed the mic. But I want to share what I was feeling in that moment anyway. Seven years ago in 2012, I was on the very same same stage, accepting my first ever award. I was a lost little boy looking into a sea of faces, most of whom I’ve never met. It was quite surreal. Not only did I just […]

Elopement at Spanish Banks Vancouver

Life can sometimes put a lot on your plate. For Scott and Terri, Life happened to put plans of a big wedding celebration on hold. A handful of years has gone by since they got engaged, and the two of them finally found the time to get married last November. Instead of a big celebration, Scott and Terri planned a trip to Vancouver from the Okanagan with their adult children and their partners to catch the Fleetwood Mac concert. With all of them together, they decided to take this opportunity to finally celebrate their relationship and say their vows! Unknowing to the rest of the family, Terri’s daughter became a certified wedding officiant just before the trip, just in time for their elopement at Spanish Banks. Just before the ceremony, she revealed the news to her family and was met with tears and laughter. She then followed up by marrying her mother Terri, and new father Scott right on the beach. Thank you Scott and Terri for inviting to your special day. I am so grateful to have been able to connect with you. “5 stars without a question, but not just for amazing photos, for also being an amazing […]

Arabic Wedding at Brock House Restaurant

Like many people from Arabic countries living in North America, many years have gone by without seeing their loved ones. For Waleed, twenty years had past since his brothers, sisters, mother and father were all in the same room together. It was so beautiful to be a part of Julia & Waleed’s special day and to be a part of their meaningful reunion. The day was full of joy, tears and dance.

Vancouver Gay Wedding at Hart House

Daniella Guzzo Photography invited me along to capture Icarus and Ben’s wedding with her last fall. They flew in Hong Kong with all of their family and friends and I am so grateful for the invite.   My favourite part of the day happened right after the ceremony ended. A long line of family and friends formed in front of the two grooms stretching from the front of the aisle to the back of the room. However, it wasn’t just a quick hug and congratulations. Each greeting was filled with so much love and passionate intent. Each hug lasted literally forever. As each loved one approached Icarus & Ben, it would always start off with a giant lingering embrace, followed by yells of excitement, and waterfalls of tears that streamed off each person’s face.   I have never seen such an emotional outpour of love like this at a wedding. To see EVERY single guest, the men, the women, allowing themselves to be unapologetically vulnerable, unable to hold back their tears of joy was the most inspiring thing. It was constant. It was infinite.   I consider myself so lucky to have have had the opportunity to experience this. Thank you […]

Camp Fircom Wedding Photographer

One of the things I love about Alex & Ian is the effortless way they connect with each other. They put each other at ease, with even a simple glance. When they told me about their wedding at Camp Fircom, I knew it would be something special. Family and friends traveled from all over to the beautiful Gambier Island, even as far as Mexico where some of Alex’s family was from. The dancing at the end of the night was definitely a highlight for me. Everyone just let loose, opened their hearts and just, danced! VENUE: CAMP FIRCOM SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER: KENDRA OF LOVE TREE PHOTOGRAPHY Thank you for checking out my Camp Fircom wedding post! I’d love to shoot here again. Vancouver Gay Wedding Photographer – Matt & Chad

Matt & Chad Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre October 21st, 2017 Matt & Chad’s wedding celebration was simply about gratitude. The most touching part of the day, that I will remember for the rest of my life, was moments after cocktail hour had ended and guests were sitting down for dinner. Each one of Matt & Chad’s guests were greeted by a personalized handwritten card at their spots, and to see each persons genuine reaction while reading their letters was so very magical. It was gesture so simple, but for me was such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. My heart was full that day and it still is.
