This post features J & A + their most cutest little one for a cherry blossoms family session! I brought them to one of my favourite locations in Vancouver. I love the way the blossoms reach from so high and drop to the ground.
The blooming period of cherry blossoms vary from year to year, as it’s influenced by things such as temperature, humidity, and rainfall. So finding the right time to shoot is always a lot of location scouting and knowing where the blooms are!
The lighter cherry blossoms in Vancouver usually bloom mid march to end of March while the darker pink flowers bloom at the end of April to the beginning of May.
For this cherry blossoms family session, they opted to wear different types of denim which worked really well with the blooms in the background. I loved the way the contrast of the blues worked so well with the fluffy pinks of the petals.
“The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It’s a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short.”
