“In a world where everyone wears a mask, it’s a privilege to see a soul.” — Amanda Richardson

I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery these last few years, and I can safely say it has been one of the hardest things I’ve gone through my entire life. I didn’t go to South America, trek into the jungle abyss and take Ayahuasca (but its definitely on my list of things to do!), but I did venture a little closer to home. I went deep inside myself, doing a lot of introspection and reflection.

As difficult as it can be, I think a little soul searching is what we all need to do from time to time. I am not afraid to say it, but being human can be hard. What I’ve learned through this all though, is that it doesn’t have to be!

I realized the value of living with intention and the value of being vulnerable. It’s freeing.

I am learning to be mindful of my words and my actions, and learning to strengthen my self-awareness. I am beginning to notice all of the signs around me, the synchronicities, and the significance each one brings into my life.

2018 also happened to be the year I fell in love.

I fell in love with the most beautiful human being.

(I love you, Andy. Is it really this cool to be in your life?)

Every day I wake up with gratitude. I know deep down that if I never dared to take this journey of self-discovery, we would have never crossed paths.. but I did, and I am so grateful for this.

I am so grateful for him.

I still have a lot to learn, and more self work to do, but I am up to the challenge. I am excited.

My journey of self has led me to discover the beauty inside and I’ve allowed myself to finally embrace it.

I see the world around me with new eyes.

I see the world through my lens with new eyes, because of the way I see myself.

I hope you can feel it in my pictures.

Because I do.
