Rainy days in Vancouver are a staple of the city, but they don’t have to wash away your photoshoot plans. Embrace the rain and find covered areas with beautiful natural light – utilize Vancouver’s beautiful urban landscape while still keeping dry!

The first thing I look for in an outdoor location is overhead protection from the elements. This offers cover from the rain while still providing good natural lighting! Embracing the weather and being mentally prepared and okay to get a little wet can help alleviate rainy day shoot stress that you might have.

Spots such as covered walkways, underpasses, and outdoor structures like pavilions or gazebos are great for shoots. Popular areas like Granville Island, Gastown, and Coal Harbour offer plenty of covered spaces that are perfect for rainy days.
