“Where to even begin??! John is just the warmest, kindest human and a brilliant photographer! My partner and I lucked out when John was able to attend our elopement through Young Hip & Married.

Not only did he put us at ease and bring our vision to life as he captured the ceremony, but he also felt like a friend who was there to cheer us on in our special day. This was such a gift as we only had a small group in attendance.

He was so easy to work with, was patient and took time with us (even when we showed up late on our own wedding day!!), and just really took care of us before, during, and after our wedding. We are HUGE fans of John and could not recommend him more!”

“As soon as I saw that John specialized in 2SLGBTQ+ weddings I knew we had found the right fit. John was calm and kind in our first contact and offered to meet us for a consult over Zoom since we live in a different province (and were traveling for our elopement). Meeting John put me completely at ease – he is calm, kind, thoughtful and generous. His online survey to get to know us better also helped us begin to get excited about our wedding day!! John was the first one on site for our wedding and took gorgeous photos of the location (Pacific Spirit Regional Park) I will always hold dearly.

He captured absolutely magical images which is exactly what we had requested – that our wedding reflect queer magic. He fit right in among our small wedding group (us and our 2 witnesses) and it felt right that he was part of our special day.

After the ceremony John was very open to our suggestions for where we wanted to take photos and spotted several gorgeous and creative spots for us. He knows how to capture the perfect lighting and the best moments! We have had so many glowing compliments from friends and family about our photos since we’ve shared them. Would I hire John again? Yes! I would even travel back to hire John all over again for special moments (pregnancy, family portraits, fur baby moments!) in the future.”
