September 20th 2019 . UBC Boathouse Wedding . Kelsey & Jon
A few seasons ago I got to shoot Daniella Guzzo Photography’s sisters wedding, Caterina and Brian’s wedding at La Perla Ballroom.
Just recently, one of my best friends and soul sister, Kendra of Love Tree Photography, connected me with her own sister Kelsey and partner Jon to shoot their wedding at UBC Boathouse!
It’s always an amazing feeling to document a wedding so close to home. There is that extra layer of connectedness that carries throughout the day that I love so much.
The day started off at River Rock Casino where Kelsey got prepared, obviously along side her fur baby Frenchie, Hudson!
Jon’s first look of Kelsey was magical. We snuck onto the dock to have so the could have a private moment before their ceremony.
Kadee Smedley of Young Hip and Married officiated a beautiful ceremony.
The forecast for this wedding was rain, rain and more rain. This wasn’t the case when the came day around so we took advantage of that and headed to Terra Nova Park in Richmond to capture some portraits and nature. We chased the light back to UBC Boathouse and got a few last sunset portraits along the water.
I noticed the sky outside and it didn’t take much convincing to get Kelsey and Jon back outside for a few more shots.
The dancefloor is one my favourite times on a wedding day. It’s a goldmine of moments that are so unique and different to every wedding. Everyone lets their walls down, loosens up, and just enjoys where the are in that very moment. A lot of my favourite images are created here!
