Sunset Maternity Session at Spanish Banks Vancouver
It’s always such an honor to be asked to capture the big moments in a couple’s life, and when that journey comes full circle—from wedding to maternity session—it’s something truly special. Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing couple’s wedding at the beautiful Capilano Golf Club in North Vancouver. Fast forward to this winter, and I was lucky enough to be there again to document another milestone: their maternity session at Spanish Banks.
We met at Spanish Banks, just as the sun was starting to set over the water. First we ventured into the nearby pocket of trees where we took some photos amongst the beautiful greenery.
Then we headed to the beach to catch the last little bit of sunset. Watching this couple, you could see how connected they were to each other and the growing life they were about to welcome. It was beautiful to see how much they already loved their baby, even before meeting them. The way they shared quiet smiles, gentle touches, and soft laughter—it was clear that they were ready for the next chapter in their lives.
As the sky shifted from soft pinks to warm oranges, we took our time walking along the beach, capturing moments as they came. There’s something about the natural beauty of the setting that makes everything feel so peaceful and intimate. The sunset, the ocean, and the couple’s love—everything just fell into place perfectly.
Being a part of these milestones is what makes being a photographer so meaningful. From their wedding day at Capilano Golf Club to this maternity shoot at Spanish Banks, it’s been a privilege to capture their story and watch their family grow.
